DESCRIPTION:Our studio has been invited to perform in Miriam’s Dance Academy 5th annual Center Stage Community Dance Showcase! Our “Production (Opening Number)” dancers will be performing! \nThis is a voluntarily performer based showcase that allows dance studios\, churches and freelance artist to showcase their talent center stage for the community. You are able to showcase your studio and who you are\, the styles you represent\, etc. This showcase will be held Mother’s Day weekend on Saturday\, May 11 at 1pm at the beautiful Van Dyke Performance Space\, 200 N. Davie Street\, Greensboro\, NC. \nThis is a family oriented event. You are welcome to perform 1-2 dances\, all dances must be positive\, inspirational\, with no profanity\, bleeps\, etc. Each dance should be no more than 5 minutes long. You are also encouraged to invite your supporters. Tickets are only $12 in advance and $20 at the door.

DESCRIPTION:General Information:\n \n\n\nThis performance is a MANDATORY event that will take the place of class that evening. The only excused absence is illness.\nWe will meet at Pleasant Garden Elementary at 5:10 to put our things in the designated area and warm up.\n\n\n\n\nPlease park in the smaller lot across from PG Baptist Church and go in the side door. There will be an SESD Staff member there to help direct you to our “dressing room.”\n\n\n\n\nThe performance begins at 6:30 and will end at 7:00. After 7:00\, dancers will be dismissed to their parents/guardians.\n\n\nDancers will need to wear light stage makeup and should have hair tidy/slick.\n\nRed lipstick is not required; please wear a more “natural” shade for this performance\n“Light” stage makeup includes eyeshadow/mascara and blush\, just to a lesser degree\nSpecific hair styles listed below\n\n\n\nWhat to Wear: ***ALL dancers need to bring their costumes AND have hair as described below for this Sunday’s (4/14) Full Cast Rehearsal!***\n\n\n\nBallet 3/4: Capezio brand Stirrup tights in the color “Caramel.” Please bring ballet shoes in case the gym floor is not ideal for barefoot dancing. Dancers who are absent from a full cast rehearsal for any reason other than family emergency will not be permitted to perform in the Show. There are no exceptions.\nFull Cast Rehearsals are held at SESD. Doors will be unlocked 15 minutes prior to first start time.\nThere is very high traffic between Acts. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early ready to dance (regular class attire\, no costumes unless otherwise specified) and place dance bags in Studio A. If your dancer needs to get dressed at the studio\, please arrive early enough to do so and be ready to dance by the rehearsal start time. \nPlease remind your dancer not to play on or with the Acro equipment and barres in Studio A.\nIntermediate/Advanced and pointe dancers should begin quietly warming up before their rehearsal start time.\nTypically\, we do not wear costumes—please wear regular ballet class attire unless instructed otherwise. Hair should be slicked back in a bun.

If you have any questions regarding the Showcase\, please attend a meeting.\nShow day is VERY busy. It is extremely important to attend Showcase meetings and ask all questions prior to the show date. Katherine will be tied up running the show; coordinating lights and sound with the technicians\, checking on dancers\, and much more. We want this experience to be as smooth and pleasant as possible\, but there is no guarantee Katherine will be able to answer phone calls\, texts\, or emails at any time during the day. If you have a question and cannot find Katherine\, look for someone in a “volunteer” shirt or your dancer’s teacher. Showcase meetings will eliminate most of the stress and confusion!

DESCRIPTION:Invite a friend to join us for our Spring Open House! We will be offering a variety of classes so you can try lots of different styles\, and we will accept registrations for the Summer and Fall seasons.
